Doppia recensione: Necrocene e Bobson Dugnutt!

(Intro by Flavio Er Coppola)

Hyle - "Weapons I've Earned" (DIY Co-production, 2020)

Once upon a time there was a fantastic hardcore punk festival in Rome called Marci su Roma, whose two editions were held in 2018 and 2019. The latter (live report here) had a very interesting bill full not only of some legendary British bands like Oi Polloi but also of some promising acts like these Hyle, an (almost) all-female crust punk band. Unfortunately, they couldn't took part of the fest due to various issues. After something like two years, Hyle are back on these pages because Francesco reviewed their third production since 2016, the album "Weapons I've Earned", that, mixed and mastered by Fabio Banfio from Rake-Off and Taste the Floor, was released in a DIY co-production involving realities such as Calimocho DIY, Bright Future, Fresh Outbreak Records, Scull Crashers and Shove Records.
And now let's go to read the review by Francesco!

Hi, brutalbangers, it’s time for you and for your extreme metal sound wasted ears to know a crust/death metal Italian band directly from Bologna: the Hyle. Almost completely feminine group, the core formed by girls that are sailed veterans of this music genre, grown with bread and hc, used to fight, shaped by anarco-feminist ideology, first line rioters and daughters of the Italian underground movements, always the real forge of ideas and cultural revolution. They beat up very strong and with furious anger! I love their sound because it remembers me the beginning of one of my favorite bands, the mighty Bolt Thrower! So, how is their album? Though, heavy, subversive, with dosed wickedness.

Galera - "Fai finta che mi ami" (Fresh Outbreak Records/Sedation Records, 2020)

Genre: Hardcore Punk with Metal and Crust Punk influences
Time: 12.04 min

                       18th September 2020 (Fresh Outbreak Records/Sedation Records)

The story of the hardcore punk band Galera ("jail" in Italian) from Rome Caput Mundi is very tormented: born in 2012, they started their career with big enthusiasm and they had also the honour to support bands of the calibre of Napalm Death, Cripple Bastards, Anaal Nathrakh and Brujeria. But, throughout their parable, they released only 2 EPs before 2020: "Roma Isterica" in 2012 and "Sanguine" in 2015. After some years of total silence, Galera came back live in 2019 in a gig where I was present and so, took by a new energy to destroy the stages, they supported nothing else than Sick of It All. But after other time, the silence failed again on the band. Fortunately, Galera recovered their activities in 2020. In fact, they were reborn like a phoenix since they are now a one-man band directed by their guitarist Roberto, that recorded alone everything for their new EP "Fai finta che mi ami", initially self-released on CD in June 2020 and then edited on tape in September by the Italian labels Fresh Outbreak Records and Sedation Records. Do you know what I say? Fuck, Roberto did very well to roll up his sleeves because projects like Galera deserve to continue to annihilate ears, and soon I'll explain why!
