REVIEWS' ATTACK #8: Sarinvomit/Liturgy of Desecration/Wargoat/Black Ceremonial Kult (Deathrune Records)

Hey brutalbangers,
today it's no joke! In fact, in this article you'll find the reviews of three productions dedicated to the most barbaric ways to conceive the extreme metal music. And this is obvious considering that each of them were released by the Spanish label Deathrune Records also in collaboration with Von Frost Rec and Godz ov War Productions, all labels that loves to wallow in the most "unlistenable" forms of our music.
So, I have warned you, then proceed at your own risk.

ENJOY THIS BRUTAL MASSACRE!!!

Band: Sarinvomit
Title: Malignant Thermonuclear Supremacy
Genre: Brutal Black Metal
Time: 45 min
Year: 13th April 2018
Rating: 70/100

What kind of music can you expect from a band whose moniker mentions a terrible nerve gas called Sarin, invented in 1938 by some German scientists? Surely not peace metal, also because it seem that the only desire of Sarinvomit consist in deleting forever every race of the much-hated humanity by submerging the Planet Earth with gigantic mushroom clouds! Composed of musicians already known in bands like Godslaying Hellblast or Persecutory, these Turkish gasmask warriors named as Sarinvomit have demonstrated very well all these "peaceful" intentions through their debut album "Malignant Thermonuclear Supremacy".

Said in simple ways, this album is a perfect representation in music of the hate in its most quintessential form! This because Sarinvomit plays a very brutal black metal à la Marduk that attack the listeners with undomable storms of blast-beats, merciless riffs with no melodies nor guitar solos and few slowdowns (like in "Splendid Radioactive Particles", that's also my favorite song). In addition, the singer Tyrannic Profanator draws with utter sadism scenarios in which the Earth is a territory to rape with a series of atrocious nuclear holocausts in order to make more cruel the death of mankind. And we mustn't forget that this extreme brutality is really fukken incredible if you think that all the 7 songs of the album are lenghty with a peak of even 7 minutes and 30 seconds reached by "Mass Grave Planet".

Now, you know I like very much the extreme brutality in metal, and I like also the immense hate spewed forth without any regrets by this band. But you have to know that the problem is that their songs are very similar and, after a while, also predictable to have an excessive lenght of this kind. In other words, we are talking about too repetitive and long songs. I think that the brutal black metal is perfect if you play it with a grinding intensity through short tracks (as in Infernal Blast) or with a more technical and surprising approach (as in the style of Hak-Ed Damm). For the moment, the assault of Sarinvomit is only nice for my broken ears but without being impressive, so I suggest to them to reduce the lenght of their songs and/or adding some solutions like guitar solos in order to offer a better variety.

P.S.: Sarinvomit have working on new stuff that will probably released between 2018 and 2019. So, you must be prepared for a new radioactive war leaded at impossible degrees!

Band: Liturgy of Desecration
Title: And the Goat of Sodomy Commands...
Genre: Bestial Black/Death Metal
Time: 22 min
Year: 28th June 2017
Rating: 73/100

From the ancient Hellenic lands (from Athens, precisely) comes a 666% Blasphemy-kult band that was founded in 2016 under the name of Liturgy of Desecration. This is a demonic duo that released in 2017 a debut EP titled "And the Goat of Sodomy Commands..." that promise a lot of good (dark) things in the future days to come!

In eternal league with Satan and against the Christianity with a hate that doesn't admit no compromises, Liturgy of Desecration made an EP which consist of 6 blasphemous tracks (included the "atmospheric" instrumental "Internment of the Abomination") that are a total triumph in the sign of a bestial black/death metal close to the early Embrace of Thorns. The band love to crush the listeners with plenty of blast-beats, as perfectly exemplified by "Sadistic Impalement", a song which is a continuous massacre that last even 7 minutes. But I think that this number is too long and not so creative.

Fortunately, the best things comes from the most dynamic tracks. For example, "The Lament of Virgin Mary" has some clear thrash metal influences. Instead, "Integration of the Prophecy" is absolutely to mention not only for its severe black metal mid-tempos impregnated with occult tunes ala Beherit but also for its chaotic guitar solo, the only present in the tracklist. In brief, this song is my favorite one of the entire EP.

After all this massacre played with rawness but also showing a nice variety, what remains is only a tortured landscape dominated by the Satanic forces, as you can understand through "Outro (Victorious March)". This outro is full of war metal clichèes like burning buildings, air siren raids, marching soldiers, machine gun fires, and an absurd voice that proclaim the ultimate victory of Satanas. It's just true that the war metal will save the world...from the mankind!

Bands: Wargoat/Black Ceremonial Kult
Title: Unapproachable Laws of the Abyss
Genre: Bestial Black/Death Metal
Time: 29 min
Year: 26th May 2018
Rating: 74/100

If the goat metal attack of Liturgy of Desecration wasn't enough for you, then this is the review of a split album that, maybe, will satisfy today your hunger for this kind of music. Released on CD by Deathrune Rec and on vinyl by Godz ov War Prod, "Unapproachable Laws of the Abyss" see two devastating bands that are very distant geographically speaking but very close musically speaking: Wargoat and Black Ceremonial Kult.

Also Wargoat comes from Athens, and they have into their discoraphy the album "Genesis of Epiklesis" (2015, Deathrash Armageddon) after their sacrilegious foundation in 2006. For this split, these 3 demons unleashed 4 tracks that rape everyone through a bestial black/death metal with some atmospheric and dark moments reinforced by doomish tempos as in the titletrack (the most classic bestial track also due to a destructive guitar solo) and the somehow "melodic" "Katadesmos Commands" (mentionable even for a nice basswork). Surprisingly, the last track of the side of Wargoat, "Banners Baptized in Blood", is acoustic, a thing not so common in this genre. So, there is a good variety and dynamicity in these songs and it's notable also a tangible evil atmosphere perceptible, for example, from haunting vocals echoed like in the style of the early VON. In practice, the sound of Wargoat isn't so different from other Greek bands like the same Liturgy of Desecration or Black Blood Invocation.
About Black Ceremonial Kult, I already reviewed them in occasion of their split with the US horde Genocide Beast but these Chilean maniacs disappointed me a little bit due to an unlistenable production. Now, the things are improved in this new abomination, so the production of the two songs by them is finally decent, even though it's somehow noisy but in a nice manner. In comparison with Wargoat, BCK plays in a more chaotic and rawer way with some Incantation vibes in the riffing and the blast-beats are impressive because they are played through a very demented pace. At the same time, the songs are long with the result to reach even the 9 minutes of lenght, but this is due also to intros and outros characterized by ritualistic tunes. In synthesis, Black Ceremonial Kult plays a bestial black/death metal through a totally raw approach typical of the South American extreme tradition.

So, what are my conclusions about "Unapproachable Laws of the Abyss"? If I have to choose the better band in the split, then I tend to prefer to Wargoat because of their more various and concise style. Anyway, I think this split is a very recommended stuff for everyone into bands such as Blasphemy, Revenge, Black Witchery and other acts  of this "peaceful" breed.
