Hey crust punkers,
after the strange Austrian blacksters Tristwood, Francesco Bazzurri has listened, in these days, to an album that has nothing to do with extreme metal: "Memorie in lingua morta". It is the self-released debut album of Culto del Cargo, a quartet from the Northern Italy born in 2010 that I knew many years ago through punk4free.org, when they released their first demo in 2011. Playing an hammering crust punk/d-beat that leaves no breath in any cases to the listeners, this album is very interesting. But now I suggest you to read the review by Francesco so to understand better why it's so interesting. Hence, enjoy his article!

Hi, extreme metal lovers!
Few days ago, I was reading an old book, printed in 70’s, titled “Near future Middle Age”, written by a visionary engineer who prophesise about global overshooting and damages caused by a global wicked politics. So, I was thinking about a possible soundtrack for this work and I choose the good old crust punk! The reason is simple: when you may say directly something, crust punk has no equals. See Doom or Tragedy. But, speaking about affinity between the book and this kind of music, most representative band are, without a doubt, the Italian Culto del Cargo with the album "Memorie in lingua morta".
I must immediately say a word about this band’s name. Cult of Cargo is a millenialist cult born in some tribal Melanesian groups, who think that cargo planes or ships delivering good for them from the gods
Speaking instead about the album, I say this: it’s a shard of glass in the eye, a rudimental and effective bomb filled with rusted nails and rage, an hard work, a crude work, soaked into wickedness, full of anger against the system, a manifest of a kind of politics that not accepts compromises spitting out the truth. But it’s also a work loaded with nihilism, fatalism, and direct ruthlessness that lets a heap of ruins after the passage. This is what we need to awaken the consciousness from planned annihilation. No silly pop songs, but a napalm bombing that burns off aesthetic skin of appearance revealing the flash of reality. Technically flawless, this album gives us 12 great songs like “Nella sicurezza di un nuovo Medioevo” , “Autopsia del cadavere del capitalismo” and “Massa contro il muro” that quotes a cult movie directed by the great Elio Petri, “La classe operaia va in Paradiso”, speaking about work that silently oppresses life, that offers survival but not existence getting worse human condition.
In this planet of factories and graveyards, brain goes on strike”: perfect synthesis of the actual situation and also a perfect slogan for this great work!
