Band: Abigorum
Title: Exaltatus Mechanism
Genre: Black/Doom Metal
Time: 45.31 min
Release date: 14th June 2019
Vote: 65/100

Maybe it's too late to talk about "Exaltatus Mechanism" but I must say the truth: I listened to it only in these last days after receiving it one year ago circa directly from Satanath Records, the Russian label that released this debut album by Abigorum.

Honorable Mentions from the Abyss #24: Iato/Gôr Mörgul

Hey brutal bangers,
I remember that, in the early days of the 'zine (I am talking about something like 10 years ago!), I was always in search of Sardinian bands because I literally fell in love with the extreme metal scene of this so fascinating region called Sardinia, that I unfortunately never visited so far, even though some of very far origins of mine come just from there. Though not on purpose, both the Italian bands of this episode of "Honorable Mentions from the Abyss" come from Sardinia, and they are named Iato and Gôr Mörgul.
I received their respective albums in physical format from Satanath Records, along with "Exaltatus Mechanism" of Abigorum (the black/doom metal band of Alexey Koryolov, the owner of the aforementioned label), whose I'll talk about soon in another article. I'm sorry with Alexey if I am talking about these albums only now after I received them one year ago but, as someone says, "it's better late than never"! And don't forget that I included all these bands in the last episode of "Come on, burn my ears!"!
So, enjoy this article and discover these great bands if you still don't know them!

Hatevömit/Nunslaughter - "Hatevömit/Nunslaughter" (GrimmDistribution/Metal ör Die Records, 2019)

Bands: Hatevömit/Nunslaughter
Title: Hatevömit/Nunslaughter
Genre: Black/Death/Thrash Metal
Time: 11.05 min
Release date: 12th June 2019
Vote: 66/100

It was strange that a cult band of the calibre of Nunslaughter still had no places of their own on these putrid pages. So, today I thought well to review their split released in the now dead 2019 and shared with the Turkish/German horde Hatevömit. Each of them is presented through 2 tracks, so the total songs are 4. And, as usual for the Satanath Records and for its sublabels, also this split is a co-production of GrimmDistribution, this time along with the Hungarian label Metal ör Die Records.

Educated Scum - "Corrupt" (GrimmDistribution/More Hate Productions, 2019)

Band: Educated Scum
Title: Corrupt
Genre: Death Metal/Grindcore
Time: 30.01 min
Release date: 23rd June 2019
Vote: 82/100

What a surprise these Educated Scum! After even 8 years from their debut album "React", these 5 Moscow-based maniacs active since 2000, along with the session drummer Dmitriy "Fin" Fiskin (Ashen Light), released a new album called "Corrupt" under the auspices of a co-production between GrimmDistribution and More Hate Productions.

Honorable Mentions from the Abyss #6: GrimmDistribution

Service communication:

before reading the article, you have to know that my ebook about the first wave of black metal entitled "Nel Segno del Marchio Nero" ("in the sign of the black mark") was finally released on 24th March 2019. It's available on the best digital stores like Google Books and others. It's completely in Italian. Thanks in advance if you'll buy it!

--------------------------------------------

Hey brutalbangers,
as I promised you some days ago, this is a new appointment with "Honorable Mentions from the Abyss" including only 2018 releases from a Satanath Records' sublabel: GrimmDistribution. Exactly, these releases are 4 and comes only from Italian acts. This time the musical offerings are very different because they ranges from old-school death/grindcore to a special form of industrial black metal, so to offer something for everyone's musical (and anti-musical) palate in the extreme metal.
Enjoy this article, men, and let me know what is your favorite band within the following ones!

Honorable Mentions from the Abyss #5: Satanath Records

Hey brutalbangers,
I was very busy in these last times, so I've had very little time to publish new articles for the 'zine. To remedy this, today the new appointment with "Honorable Mentions from the Abyss" (a special column made of simple bands' mentions without real reviews nor ratings) is literally full. In particular, it is focused on some 2018 releases of Satanath Records that its boss Alexey send me in digital format many months ago. But waste no other time, so...

ENJOY THIS ARTICLE AND DISCOVER ALL THE FOLLOWING BANDS!!!

Honorable Mentions from the Abyss #2: Invocation of Death/Witchgöat/Apes of God

El Salvador...FUCK, I knew nothing about the extreme metal scene of El Salvador before I received so many requests just from this country! So, I thought well to dedicate entirely this second appointment with "Honorable Mentions from the Abyss" to El Salvador by introducing you three notable bands. I am sure that, considering the primitive style played by this kind of bands, the classic readers of Timpani allo Spiedo 'zine will not be disappointed.

Panchrysia - "Dogma" (Satanath Records, 2018)

Band: Panchrysia
Title: Dogma
Genre: Black Metal
Time: 39.28 min
Release Date: 30th April 2018
Rating: 80/100

Some months ago I received a pack of 7 physical CDs from Satanath Records. The first album taken from that pack to be reviewed on these pages was the disappointing "Formador" by Panico al Miedo. Well, the last album coming from that pack to be reviewed here is the interesting "Dogma" by Panchrysia, a very experienced Belgian band existing since 1998 and that, thoughout the years, shared the stages with many relevant acts such as Impaled Nazarene, Cannibal Corpse, Vader, Belphegor etc. So, we are talking about a band that know what they're doing, and it isn't a case if their fifth album "Dogma" deserve good considerations from the black metal maniacs.

Godless Enthropia - "Tetracyclic Dominion" (Symbol of Domination Productions/Hecatombe Records, 2018)

Band: Godless Enthropia
Title: Tetracyclic Dominion
Genre: Technical and Progressive Death Metal
Time: 59.37 min
Release Date: 28th April 2018
Rating: 93/100

You know, I love to support the rawer and most-old-school forms of extreme metal but, sometimes, you can find on these pages bands with a more technical and modern approach. For example, this is the case of Spectral, an excellent trio from Romania whose debut album was reviewed here some months ago. And today it's the case of Godless Enthropia, a promising quintet from Italy that, after being founded in 2012 from the ashes of the death/thrash metal act Beyond the Unholy Truth, released this year their debut album "Tetracyclic Dominion" under the auspices of Symbol of Domination Productions along with Hecatombe Records. Coming from Turin (surely one of the most beautiful cities of my country!), Godless Enthropia were founded with the intentions to create something creative also taking inspirations from non-metal genres, so to surpass the classic borders of the extreme metal. Now let's start to see how those ambitious intentions became reality with this debut album!

Vomitile - "Pure Eternal Hate" (Satanath Records/Hecatombe Records, 2018)

Band: Vomitile
Title: Pure Eternal Hate
Genre: Death Metal
Time: 36.46 min
Release Date: 18th April 2018
Rating: 77/100

After a black metal break with the French band Geisterfels, today there's new room for some death metal onslaught! Specifically, this is the review about the third album of a quartet coming from Cyprus, a nation surely not famous for its metal bands. If I remember well, these Vomitile are just the first band from Cyprus ever reviewed by me! And, as a first time into the realm of the so-called Cy metal, I must say I started very well since "Pure Eternal Hate" strikes as it should be. What labels released it? The Spanish Hecatombe Records along with Satanath Records, that now is a regular presence on these demented pages since the "far" December 2017.

Wrathrone - "Reflections of Torment" (Satanath Records/The Void Records, 2018)

Band: Wrathrone
Title: Reflections of Torment
Genre: Death Metal with some Thrash Metal elements
Time: 47.23 min
Release Date: 23rd April 2018
Rating: 90/100

Born in 2008, this Finnish quintet has a stable line-up even since 2009, and this is incredible within an extreme metal underground where the musicians are used to come and go continuously from most of the bands. So, you can already understand that you are in presence of a very compact and very tight-knit band that released some months ago an outstanding second album through the usual Satanath Records along with the Italian label The Void Records (that I didn't know before even though it's Italian!).

REVIEWS' ATTACK #10: Morbid Messiah/Demonic Obedience/Fervent Hate

Hey brutalbangers,
after publishing in these last days two live reports (one about a doom metal night with Abysmal Grief, and the other about a HC punk festival called Marci su Roma), today I am back with the reviews' attack by talking about 3 death metal-oriented albums: 2 of them were released by the Russian prolific label Satanath Records, and the third one by the Spanish Memento Mori. So, let's start and...

ENJOY THESE FUKKEN REVIEWS!

Panico al Miedo - "Formador" (Symbol of Domination Prod/United by Chaos, 2018)

Band: Panico al Miedo
Title: Formador
Genre: Mid-tempo Thrash Metal with Death and Groove Metal influences
Time: 53.10 min
Release Date: 27th April 2018
Rating: 57/100

Recording and mixing by Juan Urteaga (already at work with bands of the calibre of Vile, Testament, Machine Head etc...), mastering by Jens Bogren (famous for his collaborations with Opeth, Amon Amarth, Paradise Lost etc...), a fantastic cover artwork full of absurd characters by nothing else than Ed J. Repka (do you know who he is or do you need an embarrassing refresh?), and the participation of some illustrious guitarplayers like James Murphy and Bobby Koelble, both ex-Death members. What an ambitious debut album for this Spanish quartet called Panico al Miedo! Is all this enough for a metal masterpiece? Not exactly...

REVIEWS' ATTACK #2: Bastardös/Stakhanovtsy

This reviews' attack episode is about two thrash metal albums originally self-released and now distributed by the Belarussian GrimmDistribution along with other labels. Both were sent to me by Satanath Records some months ago.

Evil Nerfal - "Bellum Est Pater Omnium" (GrimmDistribution/Morbid Skull Records, 2018)

Band: Evil Nerfal
Title: Bellum Est Pater Omnium
Genre: Black Metal
Year: 9th January 2018
Time: 41 min
Rating: 52/100

You know, I'm a big fan of the South American black/death metal because it's so raw, so instinctive, so bestial and also so Satanic and blasphemic. Hence, in theory, also this "Bellum Est Pater Omnium", the second album by the Colombian duo Evil Nerfal (but they become a quartet for the live gigs, and that's why there are 4 figures in the pic below) could be good for my tastes. Yes, in theory...

Garhelenth - "About Pessimistic Elements & Rebirth of Tragedy" (Satanath Records/The Eastern Front, 2017)

Band: Garhelenth
Title: About Pessimistic Elements & Rebirth of Tragedy
Genre: Black Metal
Year: 14th December 2017
Time: 29 min
Rating: 74/100

IRANIAN BLACK METAAAAL! It's absolutely my first time that I review something created from Iranian musicians, and I admit I listened to the second album (in only two years after their foundation in 2010) of Garhelenth also to satisfy my curiosities about this slab of exotic metal. Fortunately, these curiosities bring me to discover that this "About Pessimistic Elements & Rebirth of Tragedy", even though this album released by Satanath Rec in cooperation with The Eastern Front (label from Israel) isn't exceptional, is anyway good beyond my expectations.

Hak-Ed Damm - "Holocaust Over Dresden" (Satanath Records/Death Portal Studio, 2017)

Band: Hak-Ed Damm
Title: Holocaust Over Dresden
Genre: Brutal Black Metal
Year: 26th November 2017
Time: 43 min
Rating: 85/100

You know, Canada is a promised land for the most extreme metal bands, and this starting from even Exciter, that attacked in 1983 the rules of the traditional heavy metal with their raw fast assault forever immortalized into their now classic debut album. In fact, today I'll review a band that completely respect the tradition of the Canadian slaughter metal: Hak-Ed Damm (Hebrew for "field of blood"). Born in 2007, they released in the end of 2017 a killing second album called "Holocaust Over Dresden". Considered by them as a concept-album about World War II so to reveal the "bestial nature of man and atrocities commited in this period", its title refers to the apocalyptic and terrible bombing of Dresden between 13td to 15th February of 1945, very criticized today because this German city wasn't a really important strategic objective for the Allies.

Solfernus - "Neoantichrist" (Satanath Records/Murdher Records, 2017)

Band: Solfernus
Title: Neoantichrist
Genre: Black Metal
Year: 13th October 2017
Time: 39 min
Rating: 77/100

Second album for Solfernus after even 12 years from their first opus "Hysteria in Coma" (Shindy Productions, 2005). Maybe many of you never heard Solfernus before this review but you have to know that this quartet from Czech Republic features two members from Root, one of the main black metal acts from the ex-Czechoslovakia active since the end of the '80s. This means that we're talking about musicians with a lot of experience and, in fact, it isn't a case if this "Neoantichrist" deserve a good consideration.

Gloomy Grim - "Fuck the World, War is War!" (Symbol of Domination/Murdher Records, 2017)

Band: Gloomy Grim
Title: Fuck the World, War is War!
Genre: Symphonic Black Metal with Goth and Horror Metal elements
Year: 24th June 2017
Time: 33 min
Rating: 56/100

Compilation of old songs taken from their first two demos ("Fuck the World, Kill the Jehova" of 1996 and "Friendship is Friendship, War is War" of 1997) for the Finnish band Gloomy Grim, that I didn't know before this CD. They were started in 1995 as a one-man band of Agathon, that was already a veteran of the Finnish metal scene when he founded this new project. In fact, it's remarkable its past militancy in bands like Airdash (one of the most relevant '80s thrash metal acts from Finland) and Corporal Punishment (early '90s death metal), so I can say that he went through all the main phases in the extreme metal history, black metal included because of his Gloomy Grim, that, if I say right, became a full line-up band (but without the drummer) in occasion of their second demo.

Moribundo - "Raíz Amarga" (Satanath Records/More Hate Productions, 2017)

Band: Moribundo
Title: Raíz Amarga
Genre: Doom/Death Metal with Goth and Symphonic elements
Year: 18th June 2017
Time: 36 min
Rating: 76/100

As a fan of the mega-violence in metal music, I am not so keen on the slow metal but, surely, this doesn't avoid to me to appreciate it in the right way. This is the case of "Raíz Amarga", debut album by Moribundo (Spanish for "dying"), a Spanish trio of zombified metalheads from Madrid/Salamanca (but their third member Mortvs Vyrr is simply their lyrics writer) that released it under the auspices of Satanath Records in cooperation with More Hate Productions.
