THE FRANCESCO'S METAL (AND A BIT OF PUNK) TOP TEN OF ALL TIMES!
Metalheads, what an ugly breed! They’re ever being alternative to mainstream, ever seen like a bunch of madmen, ever seen like subversives, Satanists, antisocials, evil and so on. It’s all spite! Being metalhead is an attitude, a way of life, an example of coherence and it’s very cool! Why this introduction? Because it’s time for me to post my personal rank! Now you can say: “we don’t care about your fucking rank!”. You’re not right , because isn’t impossible living any personal experience without the right playlist!

2019 TOP TEN!
Hey brutalbangers,
so also 2019 has died and another year (and another decade) has opened its gates. I don't know how 2020 will be but, for sure, I can say that 2019 has been a really important year for Timpani allo Spiedo since the 'zine grown up a lot during these last 12 months.
Firstly, the 'zine received plenty of news/reviews requests like never before, so I started to collaborate with a new list of bands/labels/promoters while the relationship with the older ones has become stronger (as about the continuative collaborations, see the "Partners in Crime"' section). And, considering that the requests are really too many, I opened this year a column called "Honorable Mentions from the Abyss", in which I briefly tell about two or more bands in a single article.
Secondly, Timpani allo Spiedo is now a bit "professional" because I introduced the Google AdSense announcements on the 'zine, in the distant hope I could be rich with the shit I am used to publish here. Yeah, "in the distant hope" is the perfect expression...
Thirdly, an important feature I added in 2019 has been the Timpani allo Spiedo's playlist called "Come on, burn my ears!". With it, I present you my readers a monthly selection of 20 tracks coming from 20 different bands, ranging throughout the entire extreme spectrum covered by the 'zine, be it belonging to metal or to hardcore punk.
But the most beautiful news is that now the 'zine has a new collaborator: Marta Rose! She is coloring these putrid, metallic pages with a lot of punk rock, and the nicer thing is that she is full of initiatives (for example, the interview to Blatoidea was totally an idea of her!), so her work is really precious. Expect new tunes from her in the future days to come!
And now, even though with an incredible delay, here you are my 2019 TOP TEN, as usual in a random order! But this time there is a little innovation: you'll find also a short TOP FIVE of the 2018 releases that, for some reasons or another, I managed to listen to only in 2019.
So, enjoy all this and, above all, HAPPY NEW YEAR, brutalbangers!!!

2018 TOP TEN (and one more)

so, 2018 is dead and 2019 has already started its path. I have to say that 2018 has been a really nice year for this 'zine, and this for various reasons. Firstly, it's a honor that always more and more labels, bands and promoters send me regularly their productions, and this means thay my work is good. Secondly, I'm pushing to make more hardcore punk-oriented this 'zine, since I love HC punk and we don't forget that this instinctive music influenced a lot of extreme metal genres, so I don't understand why many metalheads don't still today appreciate to the HC punk. Thirdly, finally I published a bunch of live reports throughout 2018, and I have to say that I prefer the live side of the music in comparison with the studio side.
But, speaking about the studio side, 2018 has been a year with plenty of fantastic releases, so the following is my 2018 TOP TEN releases, that are in a RANDOM ORDER. Despite the 2017 TOP TEN, this new one is about many different genres in order to range from technical death metal to groove metal, but also from hardcore punk to end the list with a surprise that doesn't belongs to the classic extreme metal standards of this 'zine. And soon you will realize that that so-called "surprise" represent the extra release of this TOP TEN...

2017 TOP 10!
It's incredible but, after 9 years of existence of this 'zine, this is the first TOP 10 playlist published on these pages! The fact is that 2017 left us after a lot of amazing releases, and I hope that some of them are destined to be considered in the future times to come as real classics of the extreme metal! But I have to stress that this TOP 10 albums of mine could be also a little bit different in the near future. This because there are many releases edited during 2017 that I have still listen to but who cares? The following 2017 releases, listed in RANDOM ORDER, are my favorite ones in this exact moment, and that's it!
