Speed in Spartaco vol. 1 (25 ottobre 2025 @ CSOA Spartaco, Roma)

Honorable Mentions from the Abyss #21: xSenselessxPositivityx/Nabat/No More Lies/Shockproof/Hybridized/The Ammonoids

Hey brutal bangers,
this new appointment of "Honorable Mentions from the Abyss" is very particular because it's completely dedicated to the bands from Rome, that is the city where I currently live and where I was born 31 years ago. So, in some senses, this article is a little intimist since it talks about bands that, often, I saw live on stage, with the result that they reminds me a lot of memorable nights in the name of good music, solidarity, fun and important relationships, and all this is fundamental, especially in a tough period like this in which every live gig is forbidden.
In addition, today the genres are veeeery different since they ranges from noisegrind to punk rock or to death/thrash metal, so the lovers of the good music (and anti-music hehe!) will find a lot of interesting bands, and there is also to say that I featured all of them in "Come on, burn my ears! #7".
So, don't waste other time and ENJOY this new appointment with "Honorable Mentions from the Abyss"!

Questa E' Roma 2020 (Rome, 18th January 2020)

Fest: Questa E' Roma
Date: 18th January 2020
Location: CSOA Strike
Price: 8 €

I confess: during the new edition of the HC punk fest Questa E' Roma, a very big event for every HC punk maniac taken on 18th January 2020 at the Strike squat, I saw practically in action only 3 bands of the 16 in the bill. The fact is that I went late at the fest since I was there even at 9pm while it started the hostilities 4 hours before circa, and this means that I lost the beauty of 8 bands before I arrived. And there is need to say that this time I preferred to enjoy this fantastic event mostly by spending good moments with my many friends that were there, having a lot of fun with them until the end of the fest, precisely until 3am circa. So, the live report you're going to read today is very particular; particular as just the same fest, in which there was even a benefit dinner offered by the guys from the antispeciesist collective Agripunk, whose headquarter is located in a small town called Ambra, near Frosinone (Lazio, Italy).

QUESTA E' ROMA (Rome, 12th January 2019)

Nome festival: Questa E' Roma
Data: 12 gennaio 2019
Locale: Strike SPA
Ingresso: 8 €

Raw Power/Rake-Off/Motosega/No More Lies (Rome, 26th May 2018)

Bands: Raw Power/Rake-Off/Motosega/No More Lies
Date: 26th May 2018
Location: Trecentosessanta Gradi, Rome (Italy)

I confess: ok, I am a metalhead but, said frankly, I largely prefer since a lot of time the hardcore punk live gigs! Why? Simple: because the HC shows are so intense, chaotic and funny! An excellent example of this is given by the concert that I attended on 26th May 2018 at Trecentosessanta Gradi (or, simply put, 360), a fantastic and small punk pub located in a very vital area of Rome called San Lorenzo, which is full of various pubs, clubs and similar places where the good live music is daily. Additionally, San Lorenzo, very close not only to the famous "La Sapienza" University but also to the center of Rome, is a working class area with a long antifascist tradition, so it's totally perfect for the HC punk music. This time, the show was unmissable for the fans because they had to be smashed very well by the Italian HC legend Raw Power with supporting acts such as No More Lies, Motosega and Rake-Off! LET'S START THE MASSACRE!
