the Norwegian viking black metallers Nifrost have recently released a second single extracted from their upcoming second album "Blykrone", that will be edited on CD, vinyl and digitally by the Italian label Dusktone.
As the label says, this single called "Varden" "is about the burdens many carry while trying to climb towards their summit. It is also about the ones who never reach their purpose and the importance of persevering".
Musically, the song is very good and also emotional. It is mostly in mid-tempo showing a melodic black metal with some blast-beats here and there as well parts with militaristic drums. Instead, the vocals ranges from the classic and croaking black metal screams to epic gang choruses, but there is even a short section featuring spoken vocals.
